Famous Greek- Americans

Michael Stanley Dukakis was born in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1933. He two terms as governor of Massachusetts. He won the Democratic nomination for the presidential race in 1988, but lost in the general election to George H. Bush.

Olympia Dukakis is an acclaimed actress. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1931, she is the daughter of Greek immigrants. She has appeared in over 40 films and over 100 plays. She won an Academy Award for her performance in Moonstruck. She has also taught acting at New York University. Olympia is a cousin of former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis.
